Pedro de Ampuero

Some people take a hunting trip every few years. Pedro de Ampuero plans his life around them.

Raised in northern Spain and hunting since he was five years old, Pedro has spent decades chasing adventure with a bow in his hand. From the chamois and ibex country of Spain to Marco Polo sheep in Kyrgyzstan, Himalayan ibex in Pakistan, mountain hunts across Central Asia, buffalo in Africa, Dall sheep in Canada's Northwest Territories, and countless destinations in between, few bowhunters of his generation have experienced as much of the hunting world as Pedro has.

What interests us is the number of airports, border crossings, rental trucks, yak strings, bush flights, and backpack miles behind them. Because that's where gear gets tested.

Not in perfect conditions. In the real world. Halfway around the globe. Jet lagged. Running behind schedule. Wondering if your bow case actually made the connection.

We met Pedro more than a decade ago through our shared obsession with bowhunting. Since then we've shared mountains, camps, orange Fanta mixed with a cold lager (try it before you knock it), and more than a few adventures together.

In many ways, Pedro embodies exactly who MIGRATE was built for: the modern traveling bowhunter. We’re honored and humbled to have him put our gear through the paces.
